In this one day workshop you will learn the process of creating a multicolour linocut print using the Reduction or Jigsaw technique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You will have the opportunity to develop your existing lino printing skills and explore new techniques. This follow-on course is ideal for anyone who has some prior experience of lino printing and would like to build confidence and try more advanced methods.
You can choose to focus on\u00a0either jigsaw printing or reduction printing,\u00a0depending on your desired result and interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jigsaw printing<\/strong>: Reduction printing<\/strong>: Classes are kept small to allow plenty of individual help and guidance throughout the day. There will be lots of inspirational images available , but you are very welcome to bring along your own reference images and designs. Please also bring an apron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Tea, coffee, and biscuits will be provided. Learn how to design an effective jigsaw lino print, carve and separate your lino block, apply ink to individual pieces, reassemble the block, and use hand burnishing to produce a final edition of prints to take home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Learn how to plan and create a reduction print, working step by step from light to dark. You will learn how to create and use a registration block to ensure accurate alignment, carve and print successive layers, and build up a multi-coloured image from a single block.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
